It is recommended to wear hiking equipment such as outdoor clothing, weather-resistant outdoor clothing, ankle-high mountain boots, wind, rain and sun protection, cap and gloves. It is also important to have sufficient food and a first-aid package, a cell phone and a hiking map.

Description

This supervised walk is with 13.6km the longest continuous winter hiking path in the Ötztal. The hike goes from Oetz along the snow-covered meadows towards Sautens and along the Ötztaler Ache to the hamlet of Brunau. From there you continue to Ötztal Bahnhof (train station). Now the walk leads you on a wide path through the forest to Haiming.

For the return way we recommend the use of public transport.  Bus stops can be found in Brunau, Ötztal Bahnhof or Haiming.

  • Arrival by public transport

    Enjoy a both comfortable and relaxing train ride to the train station in Ötztal Bahnhof. You get off the train in ÖTZTAL Bahnhof where you change to a public bus or local taxi. The current bus schedule can be found at: http://fahrplan.vvt.at
