Winter Walking

Winter walking in Paznaun-Ischgl

The proximity to the main Alpine ridge gives Paznaun and its side valleys a high snow guarantee. Between the three-thousand metre peaks of the Samnaun group and the Verwall, nature lovers will discover peace and quiet away from the ski resorts, but also a lively hospitality culture.

The snow crunches under your feet, the fresh mountain air frees your breath and relaxation sinks in deeper and deeper. The Paznaun Valley has more than 60 kilometres of groomed snowshoe and winter hiking trails between 1,060 and 2,036 metres above sea level for its guests. They are spread over the 40 kilometre-long valley around the main towns of See, Kappl, Ischgl and Galtür. From short, family-friendly routes to the challenging "Weiße Weiten" winter hiking trail with a length of almost 44 kilometres, everything is included. The village of Samnaun in neighbouring Switzerland can also be reached on foot via the Silvretta. On many hikes, there are inns and huts along the way or at the end of the tour where you can stop for refreshments.
