Description
A speed distance with some ups and downs. The crisp climbs are followed by no less demanding downhill sections and the view from the Buchensteinwand into the valley is almost endless.
From the centre of Fieberbrunn, walk westwards along the Achenpromenade to the fork in the road after the football pitch in the Rosenegg district (after the SPAR supermarket). Turn right here over the bridge, cross the main road and keep to the right for a short distance. At Gasthof Obermair, the trail leads up on asphalt to the left, under the railway line, towards the hamlet of Obwall. At the fork in the road, continue straight on towards Tennhäusl. From there, follow the beautiful trails in the direction of Gerstberg and Lehrbergalm. Here follows the first downhill passage towards the hamlet of Lehrberg. Cross the main road, turn right at Hotel Kitzspitz and left at the next barn. From now on it's uphill! The crisp ascent to the Buchensteinwand with the 30 m high Jakobskreuz (Jacob's Cross) over approx. 600 hm+ raises your pulse. The view from the summit is beautiful, from the Jakobskreuz grandiose! But here begins the second downhill passage. First down towards Tennalm, but halfway down turn left towards Fieberbrunn / Buchau. In Buchau, keep left and follow the Buchensteinwand circular trail in the direction of the hamlet of Pertrach and Schönau back to the centre of Fieberbrunn
