Description

For the warm-up you start comfortably from Fieberbrunn in the direction of Hochfilzen, before your pulse rises on the very direct climb up the Buchensteinwand! No mercy on the downhill trail back to the centre of Fieberbrunn!
From the centre of Fieberbrunn you run the first 4.5 km on asphalt roads slightly uphill to the Gasthof Eiserne Hand, where you turn sharp left and follow the road uphill before turning left at the next junction towards Rotache. Go through the subway to reach the hamlet of Pfaffenschwendt. Here you use the railway subway again and reach the gravel road of the Buchensteinwand circular trail. The path climbs gently to Hochfilzen / Warming. From km 9 the real fun begins! The next 500 m+ of ascent are very direct to the plateau of the Buchensteinwand, where the 30 m high, accessible Jakobskreuz is enthroned. Once here, it pays to take a short breather! The way back to the centre of Fieberbrunn leads via the Tennalm and the hamlets of Pertrach and Schönau.
