Trailrunning Buchensteinwand Runde

Description

A round in the valley, which can be started from different places. From spring to late autumn a great alternative to higher alpine tours, not only in bad weather.
If you start in the village centre of St. Jakob in Haus, first walk down to the sports field at the Elisabeth guesthouse, then keep left at the fork in the road in the direction of the Pillersee mountain railway. Behind the Intersport Günther building, the gravel path leads into the hamlet of Flecken, where beautiful farms adorn the route. After the hamlet, continue straight on in the direction of Wiesensee / Hochfilzen. At the fork in the road to the Schießlingalm, turn right and then immediately left and follow the Forsstraße to the Wiesensee lake (Kneipp facility) and to Hochfilzen. In the Warming district, turn right at the Glaagut farm and follow the Buchensteinwandrunde trail. The route runs gently up and down above the railway line on the sunny side of the valley to Fieberbrunn, accompanied by beautiful mountain panoramas. In the Fieberbrunn district of Vornbichl, the ascent begins to Hochegg, from where it is then only straight or downhill back to the starting point.
