Description

The Lebenberg Trail is a classic among the trail running routes in Kitzbühel. Starting at the Aquarena, head towards the church and past the cemetery, where you'll find a beautiful photo spot with views of the southern mountains and the twin church towers. Continue towards Lebenberg, passing the Schloss Hotel Lebenberg, and take the trail behind the parking lot that leads over the Lebenberg. Proceed towards Achrainhof, then head towards Steuerberg, first on a meadow trail and then on a challenging forest climb. From Steuerberg, a gravel path takes you to the small Vogelsberger Weiher, and from there, continue to Gieringer Weiher. Follow the asphalt road towards Reith, then turn left after a downhill section towards Schwarzsee. Pass Schwarzsee on the circular hiking trail to the Alpenhotel, and continue towards Schwarzsee railway station. Go through the small underpass, and across the main road, the trail leads towards Pulverturm and then to Ganslernalm, where you cross the Streif. Follow the signs back to Kitzbühel to return to the starting point. This route is technically easy and can be run in the evening.
