Description
50.4 km to trail-running heaven: the marathon distance offers fantastic trails and even more beautiful views: the trail leads in a figure-eight loop up the Wildseeloder, back down into the valley and over the Fieberbrunner Höhenweg and the Wildseelodersee to the finish in Fieberbrunn.
The first crisp uphill section starts directly in the centre of Fieberbrunn at 780m with the Wildseeloder summit at 2,118m as the destination. Over gravel, forest paths, steep tracks and rocky steps, the trail leads past the Lauchsee lake, the Streuböden middle station, the wild alpine pastures and the picturesque Wildseeloder lake before you climb to the summit via serpentines and accompanied by numerous sheep.
Take a deep breath and enjoy the fantastic panorama before returning to the centre via Reckmoos and the Lärchfilzhochalm, where the second, no less challenging loop begins.
On gravel through the Pletzergraben towards the Herrgottbrücke bridge. Here you take the left-hand path and walk steadily upwards towards Grundalmen. Follow the hiking trail signs to the Gebrakapelle chapel. Follow the Fieberbrunner Höhenweg trail to the ridge above the chapel. Then follow the wonderful panoramic trails towards Jufenhöhe, Seenieder and Reckmoos before the last very direct downhill passage leads back to the village.
