Description

Take advantage of KitzSki's excellent infrastructure, which saves significant elevation gain and provides a wonderful experience for less-trained trail runners and beginners. Ride the Hornbahn lift to Alpenhaus. From there, a short stretch of asphalt road leads to a trail descending into the Trattalmmulde and further onto Wilden Haag, a ridge offering stunning views of Kitzbühel and the Hohe Tauern.

From Wilden Haag, a flowy trail heads south towards the Karstweg, which you follow for a while. This path passes through an old karst area known as "Wiener Stadt" before reaching Hornköpflsee (Mountain Lake). Take a moment to enjoy the view of the Loferer Steinberge (Lofer Stone Mountains) at this naturally designed reservoir before continuing towards the summit.

Follow the signs, which guide you partly on trails, briefly on the asphalt road, and through the Alpine Flower Garden, until you reach the summit. At the top, enjoy a well-deserved break at the Gipfelhaus (Summit Restaurant) and don't forget to take in the extraordinary panoramic views from the "Horn."
