Arrival by public transport
Take the train S3 from Innsbruck main station to Steinach am Brenner and then bus 4144 to Schmirn Toldern. Timetable - ÖBB (oebb.at)
The toboggan run is 1.6 km long and also suitable for beginners.
The Kalte Herberge toboggan run begins directly on the left at the access road to the Holzeben settlement and leads in a few minutes to the Holzeben settlement - here you will also find a large car park at the start of the forest road to the Kalte Herberge (if you want it to be even shorter, start the ascent here). Continue east along the toboggan run on a pleasant incline through the forest, past the Kalte Herberge, through an S-curve and somewhat steeper to the start house at an altitude of 1657m.
Attention: toboggan run and ascent are identical - watch out for tobogganists coming downhill!
