Description

The Alpsee is located about 450 metres behind the Pinswang border to Hohenschwangau and thus on Bavarian territory. It can be easily hiked or cycled from Pinswang along the historic Fürstenstraße. It is considered one of the cleanest lakes in Germany, which is why it is used for bathing, sunbathing and pedal or rowing boats in summer.

The two world-famous castles of the fairytale king Ludwig II - Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau - tower high above the lake. The "Museum of the Bavarian Kings" is also located directly on the shores of the Alpsee.
