Description

At the very end of the Stubaital, the mighty Stubai Glacier rises above the head of the valley. The winter sports area there, at an altitude of up to 3,210 meters, can boast of being the largest glacier ski area in the whole of Austria. Snow is guaranteed on the varied slopes of all levels of difficulty from October to June.

The Stubai Glacier attaches great importance to special offers for children. It is no coincidence that the ski resort is considered one of the most family-friendly in Tyrol. At the Big Family Ski Camp, well-trained supervisors look after the little ones and there is a children's restaurant among the many places to stop for refreshments. The obstacle course and snow carousel promise lots of fun. The BIG Family Slopestyle even has its own fun park for little freestylers from Christmas to Easter. The XXL Snowpark Stubai Zoo attracts big freestylers in fall and spring.

Experienced skiers can choose from numerous exciting slopes, including the 10-kilometre-long "Wilde Grube" valley run. The Stubai Glacier is also a stronghold of the freeride scene. The "Powder Department" attracts all those who want to carve their lines alone through untouched deep snow. And if you want to treat yourself to something special at the end of a fantastic day's skiing, you should stop off at the Schaufelspitz gourmet restaurant at the Eisgrat mountain station. It is the highest toque-awarded restaurant in the Alps.
