The ski area near Steinberg is not just a place for connoisseurs and children to have fun on the slopes.
The village of Steinberg am Rofan, which includes six small hamlets, only has around 300 inhabitants. Nevertheless, the municipality in the Brandenberg Alps has its own ski area. Due to its manageable size, it is particularly suitable for leisurely family outings. The area lies between 1000 and around 1260 meters above sea level and has a total of around 1,000 meters of slopes. On a practice slope with a baby lift and two other easy slopes, ski beginners and little "ski bunnies" can practise their first turns in peace. The longest of the slopes is located on the Gfaßköpfen near Hintersteinberg and can be reached with the Rofanlift II. This run is also suitable for training or racing. If you're hungry after all that practising, you can stop off at the "Liftstüberl" at the parking lot or at the family-run Silberwaldhütte at the baby lift.
