Nauders has everything ski and snowboard fans need - including a free ski bus to the neighboring ski areas in South Tyrol.
Located directly on the main Alpine ridge at an altitude of 1,400 to around 2,800 meters, the Nauders-Bergkastel ski area on the Reschen Pass is usually blessed with plenty of natural snow in winter. A manageable and yet varied network of pistes delights families, beginners and experts alike.
Those who need to familiarize themselves with the slopes will find many easy runs and a practice area at the valley station. At the Bergkastel mountain station, the Nauderix Kinderland attracts the youngest winter sports enthusiasts. There is an adventure forest, mogul slopes, snow tunnels, a restaurant especially for children and even a mini snow park. The two large-scale fun parks, on the other hand, are the hotspot for more experienced snowboarders and freestylers.
Lovers of secluded deep-snow slopes away from the groomed pistes can choose from five ski routes. The tour from the Gueser Kopf at 2,745 meters is particularly popular with a fantastic descent through the Schafkar in the Nauderer Tschey. A real challenge is the "Schwarze", the most difficult descent in the ski area, with steep mogul slopes to master. Incidentally, one of the longest toboggan runs in Tyrol starts at the Bergkastelbahn mountain station. It runs for 8 kilometers down to the valley.
Those looking for even more variety can now also use their ski pass (from the second day ticket) to access the South Tyrolean ski areas of Schöneben and Haideralm on Lake Reschen, Watles as well as Trafoi and Sulden on Ortler. They all form the new "two-country ski arena". A free ski bus connects the five winter sports areas.
