Description

The road winds steeply up to the Kühtaisattel. At the top of the pass, 2,017 meters above sea level, the entrance to the high-altitude and snow-sure Kühtai ski resort awaits. The hotel village of the same name is Austria's highest ski resort. A manageable yet varied selection of pistes of all levels of difficulty will delight winter sports enthusiasts of all abilities. In good years, the high altitude even allows you to enjoy the slopes until the beginning of May.

The ski area is particularly known for being family-friendly. This applies on the one hand to the hourly tariff system and the moderate prices, and on the other to the facilities suitable for children and beginners, such as the new covered 204-metre-long KühTeppich and the WunderTeppich at the runway. Snowboarders and freestylers share the fun park, while advanced skiers will find numerous red-marked pistes. And there are also many fantastic deep snow areas for ski tours. The routes to the Sulzkogel (3,016 meters) and Pirchkogel (2,828 meters) are particularly high up.

In addition to the huts in the ski area, Kühtai has a wide range of inns, restaurants and huts in the evening, such as the Dorfstadl. The insatiable piste freaks can even go night skiing twice a week. The piste from the "Zum Kaiser Maximilian" mountain lodge downhill is even open until 11.30 pm. Incidentally, the lift ticket is also valid in the neighboring Hochoetz ski area, which can be reached by a free ski bus.
