Freeride Camps

Freeride camps in Tyrol impart comprehensive knowledge about safety in the open ski area. This includes avalanche awareness, correct track selection, use of safety equipment such as avalanche transceivers, shovels and probes as well as rescue techniques. In addition, behaviour in alpine terrain is trained in order to minimise risks.

The requirements vary depending on the camp and provider. Some camps are aimed at beginners and slightly advanced skiers who want to improve their technique and build up their safety knowledge. Others, such as the SAACnd Steps camps, require basic knowledge and deepen this in three to five-day courses.

Special equipment is required to take part in a freeride camp in Tyrol. This includes freeride skis or snowboard, climbing skins, helmet, avalanche transceiver (LVS), shovel and probe. Some providers, such as ROCKnSNOW, also offer safety equipment hire.
