The gentle Simmering slopes attract visitors to the Simmeringalm and its summit all year round. In early summer, it presents itself as a tranquil host with blooming alpine flower meadows.
The most popular way to reach the Simmering summit cross (2,096 m) is the ascent from the Grünberg parking lot in Obsteig. The route to the Simmeringalm is either on a leisurely forest path (a toboggan run in winter), or in steeper zigzags through the woods, walking time approx. two hours. Then continue over lush alpine pastures up to the summit. Fancy a shortcut? There is also the option of taking a transfer to the Simmeringalm.
Start at the Simmeringalm mountain hut and follow the trail, paying attention to the ground markings, across gentle alpine pastures. The route later covers rocky terrain as it climbs up to the summit.
