Description

Basic alpine refuge on the Schüsselkarspitze mountain
German Alpine Club, Garmisch-Partenkirchen Division

The Schüsselkarspitze is a mountain which is very popular with rock climbers thanks to its steep faces with plenty of different routes. However, it is for advanced and expert climbers only. Some of the most famous climbing routes include "Mon Cherie", "Wolke 7" and "Locker vom Hocker". Hikers and climbers who are surprised by bad weather or suffer some other kind of misfortune will be pleased to know that there is a refuge on the mountain where they can take shelter: the Schüsselkar-Biwak. This small bivouac is bright orange and has enough space for six people. That's about it when it comes to the amenties. As with all emergency refuges, visitors must bring food and water themselves.
