Description

Simple mountain hut with a fantastic location
German Alpine Club, Nördlingen Division

Locations don't come much more spectacular than this! Built in 1898, the Nördlinger Hütte is perched on the southern ridge of the Reither Spitze mountain with majestic views over Seefeld, the Wetterstein Mountains and the Mieming Mountains. It is the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy the sight of the sun setting behind the mountains every evening. The large terrace also offers views of the Inn Valley and the Stubai Alps. The Nördlinger Hütte is the highest Alpine Club mountain hut in the Karwendel Mountains and an important base for hikers on the Karwendel High Trail as well as those keen to climb some of the surrounding peaks. There is also a via ferrata fixed-rope climbing route leading up to the top of the nearby Erlspitze mountain. When it comes to amenities, the Nördlinger Hütte is basic – recently installed solar panels provide electricity, but not in the bedrooms. There are no showers and only cold water is available for washing. Mobile phone reception is, however, good.
