Description

Pleasant place to stop for refreshments high above the Vilsalpsee lake
German Alpine Club, Landsberg am Lech Division

To make one thing clear from the outset: the stated walking times do not apply here, because you will need to stop over and again during your ascent to the hut to savour the beautiful natural landscapes. Idyllic mountain lakes decorate the picturesque landscape, the surrounding mountains with their many green slopes are magnificent, and there is a veritable plethora of stunning peaks to climb. For this reason, the Landsberger Hütte is a much-frequented day trip destination. It was built in 1929 and expanded in 1966. Renovation works have been completed since, but it has nonetheless retained its original mountain guest house ambience, just as one would expect in an alpine environment. A good view of the Lachenspitze via ferrata can be enjoyed from the terrace.

How to get to the Landsberger Hütte

From Vilsalpsee/Tannheimer Tal in 2 hours, from Tannheim (with cable car via Neunerköpfle) in 3 hours, from Haldensee in 4 hours, from Rauth (Gaichtpass) through Birkental Valley in 4.5 hours.
