Sometimes huts have to be moved. Where the Konstanzer Hütte originally stood when it was opened in 1885 was a place at risk of avalanches and landslides. After being destroyed by a landslide in 1988 it was rebuilt in a more favourable position 700 metres away from the original site. This idyllic forest location at the edge of an upland moor is not only well protected, but also incredibly beautiful. The charming hut, which belongs to St. Anton am Arlberg, offers fabulous food and is a popular meeting place for both tourists and locals. It also stands where three valleys converge: the Pfluntal, Schönverwalltal and Fasultal.

Ascent to the Konstanzer Hütte

From St. Anton am Arlberg through the Rosannaschlucht gorge (2.5 hours); from Hotel Moserkreuz (3 hours); from Salzhüttle with hiking bus stop (1¼ hours); from Galtür in the Paznauntal Valley via the Heilbronner Hütte (5 hours).
