Noble? Well the surroundings of this impressive mountain refuge hut could certainly be described as such. Perched on a rocky plateauin the beautiful Radurscheltal Valley, the Hohenzollernhaus was built in 1924 close to the border with what is today the Italian province of Alto Adige. Back then it offered accommodation for up to 20 guests. Over the course of time the hut was transferred from the Hohenzollern Division to the Berlin Division of the German Alpine Club, before finally coming under the control of the Starnberg Division. It has been expanded and renovated on several occasions. Visitors are welcomed with warm hospitality, the house is well maintained and has received the “Child Friendly Hut“ award. Not only do climbers and hikers like to spend their time near the hut, but also ibex, marmots, eagles and bearded vultures. Open from June until late September.
