Description

Popular meeting place on the south side of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains
German Alpine Club, Main-Spessart Division

Although the Gaudeamushütte is surrounded by the imposing Wilder Kaiser Mountains, it stands alone on an inviting alpine meadow at the foot of the Törlspitzen, above the Wochenbrunner Alm. Close to many hiking and mountain trails, the hut is well frequented by day trippers, especially in nice weather. They meet on the sun terrace to savour Tirolean specialities and exchange opinions on hiking and mountaineering tours as well as climbing routes. This charming hut is accessible via a toll road, making it a popular starting point for various summit climbs and crossings of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains. The menu may be small, but the food is delicious. Mountain climbers certainly don’t need to worry about their calorie intake, and homemade cakes are always available.
