This hut is the most remote in the Kaiser Mountains, away from the most frequented walking and hiking trails. The Fritz-Pflaum-Hütte is definitely for those who enjoy the simple life. It sleeps up to 17 people and has all the basics such as a cooker and a toilet. Food and firewood must be brought by hikers themselves. The surrounding area is alpine and rugged, with the Griesner Kar forming a natural amphitheatre high above. Some of the most well-known mountains in the region can be seen from here, including the Predigtstuhl (2,093 metres), the Goinger Halte (2,224 metres) and the Lärcheck (2,123 metres).
