Description

Beautiful vantage point high above Lake Achensee
German Alpine Club Hut, Section Ettlingen
Stage of the Eagle Walk

In the heart of the Rofan Mountains, visitors’ hearts will fill with joy when they see the magnificent view from the Erfurter Hut. The hut itself is located next to the top terminal of the Rofanseilbahn cable car, from which fabulous views can also be savoured. It has been professionally renovated; the rooms and lodgings are furnished in a contemporary wood design, where visitors will feel very much at home for even longer than just one night. And there are very good reasons to linger; excellent touring opportunities to the beautiful alpine slops and Rofan Mountains, as well as a special attraction at Mount Gschöllkopf, just above the Erfurter Hut: the AIRROFAN Sky Glider, where you can soar through the air like an eagle. The “Adlerhorst – Eagle’s Nest” observation deck also offers extensive 360 degree views.

Well known surrounding mountains: Haidachstellwand, Hochiss, Rofanspitze, Dalfazer Kamm, Rotspitze, Roßkopf.

Ascent to the Erfurter Hut

From the base terminal of the Rofanseilbahn cable car in Maurach at Lake Achensee, either with the cable car or on foot up to the Erfurter Hut (walk takes ca. 2 hours), or via Durraalm to Dalfazalm and from there an easy ascent along the “Panoramaweg” to the hut.
