The Edmund-Graf-Hütte (2,375 metres) is a mountain refuge in the heart of the Verwall Mountains. It serves as a good base for walks and hikes in the Eastern Alps of Tirol.
Mountain refuge on the highest peak in the Verwall Mountains

There are few feelings quite like sitting on the terrace of the Edmund-Graf-Hütte, high above the clouds which cling to the valley, while looking up at the tallest of the peaks in the Verwall Mountains. As hikers make their way up to the hut, they will be able to catch a few glimpses of the building as it peeks out from behind a rocky outcrop. With such an idyllic location, it is little wonder that the Edmund-Graf-Hütte is considered a good basecamp for walks and hikes in the Eastern Alps of Tirol. The hut can be reached from both the Paznauntal Valley and the Stanzer Tal Valley in 3-4 hours. It is open from mid-June until mid-September and has a total of 90 sleeping places (rooms and a dormitory). The Hoher Riffler mountain high above is the tallest summit in the Verwall Mountains. The hut is not serviced in winter, but there is a separate room with heating where visitors will find shelter.
From the village of Kappl in the Paznauntal Valley in 4 hours, from Pettneu am Arlberg in the Stanzer Tal Valley in 3 hours.
Hoher Riffler (3,168 metres), 2.75 hours, intermediate (difficult section near the summit with a little climbing required)
Blankahorn (3,129 metres), 2.75 hours, difficult
Kappler Joch (2,672 metres), 1 hours, intermediate
Welskogel (2,880 metres), 2.5 hours
Niederelbehütte, 4.5 hours
The Edmund-Graf-Hütte is located on the Paznaun High Trail (Stage 9) and is also one of the stops on the Verwall Mountain Trek.
