Description

Spacious mountain refuge hut at the Stubai Glacier
German Alpine Club, Dresden Division

The splendid Dresdner Hütte opened in 1875 and was the first high-mountain refuge in the Stubai Valley. Following the construction of ski lifts and pistes on the Stubai Valley in 1973, the number of visitors to the hut increased significantly. To date, it has been renovated and extended many times over and it is now an imposing stone building complex offering comfortable accommodation to a large number of guests. Visitors are pampered with delicious meals in the welcoming dining lounges and on the spacious terrace. Rooms are cosy and modern. The old “Zollhütte” (customs hut) is only a few minutes’ walk away and is also available to hire. Visitors wishing to explore the glacier will need the necessary climbing and safety equipment.
