Mountain railway Karlesjochbahn

Accessible via the Kaunertal Glacier Road, the Karlesjochbahn cable car transport visitors to over 3,000 metres above sea level and a world of permanent ice, even in the summer months. Just 300 metres from the restaurant is a crevasse large enough to walk into, while the viewing platform (wheelchair accessible) offers breathtaking views of this region where Italy, Switzerland and Austria converge. The Kaunertal Glacier is an ideal destination for all the family. Highlights well worth visiting include the Seeles-Seen lakes, the glacier tongue of the Gepatschferner and the glacier snout.
