Mountain railway Hintertuxer Gletscherbahnen

This modern cable car comprising three sections leads from Hintertux via the Sommerbergalm, the Spannnagelhaus and the Tuxer Fernerhaus all the way up to 3,250 metres above sea level. The ride up is an experience in its own right. Up at the top guests can look forward to fabulous views of the Zillertal Alps Nature Park and as far as the Zugspitze, Dolomites and even the Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain. Hikers will find plenty of trails catering for all abilities, while families with children will enjoy the NaturEisPalast. Located just a stone's throw from the top of the cable car, this impressive ice cave dazzles with ice stalactites, giant ice crystals, frozen waterfalls and even a shimmering blue glacier lake.
