Lechweg - Leisurely variant - Stage 6 - Elmen to Weißenbach

Elmen / Allgäuer Alpen
Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 20.0 km

Today you finally reach the "Lechzopf". Sounds like a Tyrolean specialty? It is. But not from the kitchen recipe category. See for yourself!

Tour character

At 20 kilometers, this is the longest stage. Nevertheless, it is an easy route that only runs slightly up and down through the mountain forest for the first few kilometers and is almost completely flat downhill from Vorderhornbach. The vegetation changes, with a mixed beech forest appearing for the first time. Above Vorderhornbach there are further panoramic views of the Lech Valley and the striking "Lechzopf". This landscape between Stanzach and Forchach, surrounded by old groynes, wide gravel banks and wooded banks, is one of the most characteristic sections of the wild river. The Lechweg trail leads directly past it. Take a break on one of the driftwood logs or gravel banks. Passing the Forchach suspension bridge, a quarry pond and the species-rich meadows on the Moosberg, the route leads to Weißenbach am Lech without any significant differences in altitude.
