Lechweg - Leisurely variant - Stage 2 - Lech am Arlberg to Warth

Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 10.6 km

The still young river passes its first narrow section, the Lech Gorge. And you? Enjoy the pristine nature and keep your distance to be on the safe side.

Tour character

This easy to moderately difficult stage connects the two Vorarlberg winter sports resorts of Lech am Arlberg and Warth. The route leads slightly above the valley floor on paths and forest trails with gentle ups and downs to the northeast. After two thirds of the way, there is a view of the wild and romantic Lech gorge, where the Lechweg is narrow and steep in places, but always well developed. Shortly afterwards, the Lech is crossed on a wooden bridge and the trail ascends through the high-altitude forest to the Walser village of Warth, 150 meters higher up.

Description

During the second stage of the Lech Trail, you hike along a path above Lech am Arlberg to Grenztobel, which marks the municipal border between Lech and Warth. Once you have crossed the Geißbrücke bridge, your path leads steadily uphill to the Walser village of Warth, which lies at an altitude of 1,500 m. When you arrive at the entrance to the village, you can take a break and visit the Seebachsee, a natural lake, as well as the highest alpine dairy and butcher's shop in Vorarlberg. This stage offers you fascinating experiences in terms of both scenery and culture.
