As if you were walking through a gate: Suddenly the wide valley basin of Reutte opens up. And your gaze goes into the distance.
Moderately difficult, somewhat longer stage, mostly flat, but with climbs in the second half. At the start in Weißenbach, you pass the exit of the Rotlech gorge. In Rieden there is an alternative route: hike through the Klausenwald forest up to the Ehrenberg castle ruins and the highline179 bridge, then descend to Ehenbichl. Or continue regularly on the Lechweg along the river bank. There, the wide valley basin of Reutte opens up, where the Lech has been partially straightened. The more densely populated areas are bypassed via Wängle, where the route now ascends along the panoramic high-level trail. Shortly before the Costaries Chapel, from where there is a wide view of the valley, there is a steep ascent. Then descend past the Frauensee lake (refreshments available) into the valley. The hiking trail leads through the Pflacher Au with its bird adventure trail and observation tower to the village center of Pflach.
From the centre of Weißenbach, the Lechweg leads you through the breathtaking Rotlechschlucht gorge to the starting point. From there, you continue your hike via Rieden along the picturesque banks of the Lech to Höfen. Starting in Wängle, the Lechweg trail first leads onto the breathtaking high-altitude panoramic trail. This then takes you to a path that leads up to the Costaries Chapel. A spectacular panoramic view of the Reutte valley basin awaits you there. The trail then continues towards Frauensee and down to Hinterbichl, where you can cross the Lech and continue your tour towards Pflach.
