You will probably be watched closely from all sides as you put on your rucksack at Lake Formarin. This is because a particularly large number of ibex live there.
Ascent to the Formarinsee lake at 1,793 meters above sea level with the hiking bus line 707 from Lech am Arlberg (free for holders of the Lechtal Aktiv Card). The first stage starts there, at the source of the Lech. It is technically easy to medium-difficult and hardly challenging in terms of fitness, as it is mostly downhill. Peaceful hiking in a largely uninhabited valley with peaks up to 2,700 meters high all around. Apart from the alpine path, there are no roads and the hike is mainly on a path along the Formarinbach stream, later along the young Lech. You pass one of the largest ibex colonies in Europe. Stop off at the Älpele inn or the Fischwerwirt restaurant in Zug.
The Lechweg meanders along easy mountain paths through the Lech spring area until the Formarinbach and Spullerbach streams join to form the young Lech.
