Lasörling altitude trail Stage 2

Virgen in Osttirol / Venedigergruppe
Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 6.5 km
Duration: 3:00 h

It's a good thing that this second day of the tour is manageable with a walking time of around 3 hours. Because then we have plenty of time to enjoy this incredibly beautiful panorama, for example at the Merschenalm. It is on the way and offers spectacular views of the 3,000-metre peaks of the Virger Nordkette. Well fortified and satisfied, we continue to the Lasörlinghütte.

Description

The second day starts at the Zupalsee Hütte and begins with a moderate ascent over a gentle ridge into the Steinka valley to the Merschenalm at 2,248m. Here you can take a break and enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the numerous 3,000-metre peaks of the Virger Nordkette with Ochsenbug, Bretterspitze, Göriacher Röte, Mitteregspitze,...).
After refreshments, the trail climbs slightly towards Merschenhöhe. The crossing is at an altitude of just under 2,500m, but is easy to walk on. After the ridge, the view opens up a little and you can already see today's stage destination. A short detour to the left up to the Gumpenlacke is well worth it, because from here it is only a 30-minute walk to the Lasörlinghütte.
