The "Wilde Kaiser Steig", one of the oldest and most scenic high altitude trails in the Tyrolean Lowlands, crosses the Wilder Kaiser range in an east-west direction, with start in Kirchdorf in Tirol and finish in Kufstein.

The Wilder Kaiser Steig was established in 1990 by linking several existing trails and paths below the rock walls of the Wilder Kaiser massif. Plan two days to hike the entire length of the trail. Overnight accommodation is available at Gaudeamushütte (1260m, AV) and Gruttenhütte (1620m, AV). Alternatively you can do sections of the trail as day hikes, with starting point in any of the towns between St. Johann in Tirol and Kufstein. Please note that Schaflsteig (closed temporarly) and Jubiläumssteig are for experienced hikers only.

    Exit: Kirchdorf i.T. Gasteig (300 m to Kramerhof)
