Vilser Alm car park on the southwestern outskirts of Vils
If the grown-ups are pushing the baby carriage, the little ones will love this excursion too: The romantic Vilser Alm is an attractive day destination for a relaxed family outing.
Great if the baby carriage is along for the ride, as the 6.6-kilometre route there and back would be too much of a challenge for the youngest hiking fans. Parents are challenged, but not overstretched, as the idyllic trail through the mountain forest along the Kühbach is largely moderate with 350 meters of ascent and descent and is well prepared.
From the Vilser Alm parking lot, it takes a good hour and a half to reach the Vilser Alm at 1,226 m above sea level on a well-prepared forest path. The path winds through the forest along the Kühbach stream.
You will be rewarded with regional delicacies on the alpine pasture. The sun terrace is particularly inviting in fine weather and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The cozy restaurant with its tiled stove should not go unmentioned. The adjacent playground with petting zoo is particularly practical for families.
You can return to the valley along the same route.
