Description

From the Gasthof Hausstatt car park, follow the road uphill to the fork in the road. Follow the wide forest path and follow the signpost to Lafasteralm. When you reach the Lafasteralm, walk along the Lafasteralmweg to Hochleger. In the summer months there are cows on the mountain pasture, which characterize the landscape. Arrived at Hochleger (alp), follow the marked hiking trail (signposted "Gilfert").

The path leads past the Wetterkreuz and uphill along a slightly steeper path to Gilfert. Arrived at the beautiful summit cross at 2,506 m, one is rewarded for the exertions of the ascent with a fantastic panorama in the direction of Karwendel and the Zillertal Alps. Don't miss a break and enjoy the silence at the summit. When descending in the direction of Nonsalm - please pay attention to the signs! We follow the Nonsweg out of the valley, back in the direction of the Hausstatt car park. Before returning home you can stop at the Gasthof Hausstatt or a little below at the Steiner snack station and reward yourself with Tyrolean delicacies for the exertions of the hike.
