Description

Leave the community centre and walk a short distance down the valley. After crossing the Finsingbach (stream), turn off to the right to the Ziller promenade. Keep left at the Ziller promenade – cross the Schöffstall bridge and then go left toward the Gasthof Almdiele. The nature and bird trail starts by the Gasthof. The nature trail invites 
you to consciously see, hear, smell, and feel the amazing natural environment. Listen to the sounds and the voices of the forest. Immerse yourself in the diversity of colours and shapes, smell the scent of the blossoms, earth, resin and musty foliage; use your hands to explore and feel the various secrets of the forest. At 15 sites along the trail, the characteristic features of the local landscape are explained on information boards and at nature experience stations to allow visitors to actively experience the forest environment and its inhabitants. The bird nature trail is set up along the same route as the nature trail and offers an insight into the native birdlife. Who knows and can identify the various species of native birds? Native bird species are presented on 44 information boards. Allow yourself approx. 2 ½ hours time to experience the nature trail and the bird nature trail, which are arranged along the same route. This trail is ideal for families with children. With its impressive 91 m, Hart’s Bridal Veil waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Zillertal valley and is the ideal location to take a break and experience the natural spectacle of tonnes of water crashing down on rocks.
