The rock formations of the high mountains and the green meadow mats attractively set the scene for the Schleier waterfall in Tux and give it the leading role in the impressive natural spectacle.

The Schleier waterfall at the entrance to the Weitental valley can be reached either by cable car and an easy hike, or on foot from Hintertux. The approximately eight-kilometre, moderately difficult circular hike starts at the valley station of the glacier lift. At the waterfall, impressive views of the high mountain nature and the Hintertux Glacier open up. The easy descent via the Bichlalm invites you to take a break on the sun terrace or in the cozy parlors.

Description

Turn off to the right at the top station of the glacier cable car and follow the good broad path uphill (path AV no. 324) to reach Tuxer-Joch-Haus (moutain refuge). The descent takes you through the Weitental valley (path AV no. 326) well known for its superb alpine flora, past the Schleier waterfall on a safeguarded path (no. 17) and then down to Hintertux.
