Many meters of altitude in a short time - your children will love that. The forest trail to the Ludwigsburger Hütte offers just that, with occasional views down into the Pitztal valley as proof that you can quickly gain altitude and spur you on.
Starting from Zaunhof in the Pitztal valley, you have the choice between a forest trail or forest path to the Ludwigsburger Hütte, which stands at 1,935 meters on the western slope of the Geigenkamm. The forest trail, which is more popular with children, winds its way up over roots and stones. At the Ludwigsburger Hütte, a wonderful view of the Kaunergrat and, for children, a flat and an eight-metre-high climbing rock behind the hut await.
Walk by the well-signposted and steep path (in parts stepped) or alternatively along the agricultural road to the catered mountain hut Ludwigsburger Hütte. From this hut, which is in a beautiful setting, enjoy views of the Hohe Geige, the Glacier, the Rofele rockface and the Venet summit. Return by the outward route.
