Mountain hikes Themed footpath: Life at the foot of the Glacier

Description

Hiking trail no. 11 starts at the car park in front of the valley station on the right, at the wooden gate. A short distance along the stream, slight ascent, continue flat above Hintertux on the field path, go through the tunnel and descend at the Alpenbad Hotel Hohenhaus to the centre of Hintertux. Below the Thermal-Badhotel Kirchler, trail no. 10 (Badweg) leads along the Tuxbach stream back to the starting point.
The trail can also be used with an all-terrain stroller.

Other direction: Hiking trail no. 11 - Hintertux village center - ascent to Alpenbad Hotel Hohenhaus - left through the tunnel - Neuhintertux, valley station of the glacier lift.  You can return to the starting point via trail no. 10 along the Tuxbach.

Interesting to know:
Fauna and flora in Hintertux at 1,500 m above sea level, but also the inhabitants are continuously subject to the influence of the glacier. Under strict conditions, a very special mosaic of survival artists developed here; this concerns not only the animals and plants, but also the people who have lived here for centuries. In the course of a walk along the theme trail, thematic panels provide information about the various factors that govern life in this harsh landscape.
