Day 5 on the Sellrainer Hüttenrunde - which lives up to its name. We say goodbye to the Schweinfurter hut and look forward to the Bielefelder hut. It too is a real gem with its stone façade, red and white shutters and fantastic cuisine. After 9 hours of walking, we feast without regret.
Difficult stage on black mountain paths. Sure-footedness, alpine experience and a very good level of fitness are required.
The 5th stage of the Sellrainer Hüttenrunde is a challenging high mountain tour with spectacular views and varied passages. It leads from the Schweinfurter Hütte via two impressive embrasures and striking peaks to the Bielefelder Hütte.
At the beginning, the trail climbs steadily to the Hochreichscharte (2,900 m) - the highest point of this stage. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding mountains. After a short descent, the ascent to the Niederreichscharte (2,700 m) follows. The route then leads over the Lauser and Achplatte peaks, which offer great views, before finally reaching the Bielefelder Hütte.
This difficult stage requires surefootedness and stamina, as it involves 880 metres of ascent and 800 metres of descent. The walking time is around 9 hours, making it a challenging but extremely rewarding tour.
Access option: Alternatively, the Bielefelder Hütte can also be reached directly:
