Today we can also choose the route and length of the tour. Either via the snow hole towards the Schweinfurter Hütte or via the Zwieselbacher Roßkogel (3,081 m) and Fidaskar to the stage finish. Either way, we will be lovingly pampered by the hosts of the Schweinfurter Hütte, on the sun terrace or in the cozy parlor - another decision we can make.

Description

This impressive 4th stage of the Sellrainer Hüttenrunde leads from the Pforzheimer Hütte through varied high mountain landscapes to the Schweinfurter Hütte at over 2,000 metres.

From the Pforzheimer Hütte, the hike starts on trail no. 145 and initially leads steadily uphill to the Gleirschjöchl. Once at the top, you have a magnificent view of the surrounding peaks. The trail then continues through the impressive Schneeloch, a high alpine depression with a fascinating backdrop. The descent leads into the Zwieselbach valley before finally reaching the Schweinfurter Hütte.

The stage comprises a total ascent of 440 metres and a descent of 715 metres. With a walking time of around 4 hours, it offers a varied mix of exertion and impressive nature experiences.

Access option: If you want to hike directly to the Schweinfurter Hütte, you can ascend from Umhausen-Niederthai in the Ötztal valley through the beautiful Horlachtal valley. This variant takes around 2 hours and is a worthwhile alternative.
