Stage 6 Alpine variant: the Ludwig Dürr trail: Friedrichshafener Hütte - Darmstädter Hütte
In this section we tackle the well-known and notorious Ludwig Dürr trail. From the lodge we get to the Matnaljoch and the Dürrschartl at 2670m in around 1.5 hours. We continue on the signposted route via the Schönpleisübergang on the Zwischengrat at 2770m, crossing a few snowy fields and steep sections, finally reaching the Rautejoch at 2750m. From here we have the Därmstädter Hütte in our sights, which we get to in around 1.5 hours in part via the glacier foothills of the Küchelferner. On this stage we have to tackle a very steep high Alpine path. Without a doubt this is the most difficult section of the High Route Paznaun and exacts Alpine experience and knowledge.
With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley.
