Description

If you are travelling by car, you can use the Eisbrücke car park. Otherwise, start your tour near the municipal office in Sellrain and hike through the picturesque Fotschertal valley. After a short stretch, you will reach the goods road that leads you to the Kaseralm.

From the Kaseralm, you have two options to get to the Potsdamer Hütte at 2,009 metres:

Option 1: Follow the winter trail, which runs to the right of the Fotscherbach stream and leads directly to the Potsdamer Hütte via the Seealm.
Option 2: Cross the Fotscherbach and take the summer trail - the so-called Gottwaldweg - on the left-hand side. Although this route is shorter, it is somewhat rockier and swampy in places, but offers particularly beautiful views.

The DAV's Potsdamer Hütte is open from mid-June to mid-October and invites you to take a well-earned rest before you start your return journey.
