Description

From the centre of Mieders uphill, always on the "Quo vadis Pilgerweg", from MIeders also signposted as Kapellenweg, to Maria Waldrast at 1,638m (2.5h). After a short pause in the pilgrimage church, we fill our water bottles at the fountain in front of the church. This water, also called mother water, is said to have special healing powers. We follow the toboggan run downhill, come to an asphalt road, follow this road downhill, past your chapel, then after about 100 metres turn right onto the Trinsersteig. Follow this forest trail until you reach the Antonius Chapel, walk briefly uphill and turn left. Walk on a flat path in the forest to the Pflutschwiesen meadows with beautiful views of the Gschnitztal valley. Immediately after the Pflutschwiesen, the trail continues downhill on a path and then on a trail until you reach the path that leads along the edge of the forest to the centre of Trins and directly to the parish church. The church of St. George, first mentioned in a document in 1359, was rebuilt at the end of the 15th century and consecrated in 1494.
