Wonderful circular hike at the foot of the Kalkstein plateau. The tour is on the sunny side of the valley and can therefore also be done in spring or late into autumn. Also a great alternative to high alpine tours in bad weather.
You can start this tour at the hikers' car park in Obwall (road towards Hochreit). The trail leads along a gravel road and hiking paths through the forest up to the rustic Rohreralm. The best way to enjoy the magnificent view over the valley and the surrounding mountains is to stop for a bite to eat on the terrace.
TIP: Bike & Hike: by bike to the starting point! At the Obwall car park there is not only space for cars, but also for bikes! The bikes can be parked and locked (bring your own lock!).
TIP: Special mountain moments at the not much frequented summit of the Wallerberg! Ascent from Rohreralm approx. 1h. Attention: Alpine trail that requires surefootedness and a head for heights!!!
