Mountain hikes Ried - Albl - Hochalm (1811m) - hiking area Hochzillertal (Trail No. 32)

Description

Set off from the centre of Ried (church) and head towards Kaltenbach until you reach the Riedbachbrücke. Before reaching the bridge, turn right and onto the trail through the forest – the trail leads to the Riedberg chapel (Riedbergkapelle) along the Kreuzweg (Way of the Cross). Head from there along the trail until it opens up into the Riedbergstrasse. Then the trail follows the road until it reaches Schönblick. Continue from Pension Schönblick uphill and along the High Alpine Road – head left and uphill at the junction Höhenstrasse/Uderns. Take the turn-off for Albl-Hochalm. As the route heads uphill and to the right, it leads along a series of forestry roads and forest paths en route to the Krötzingalm pasture. From there, continue on the forest road until you take the turn-off for the hiking trail that leads to the Hochalm pasture. Then proceed along the Hubertus wildlife trail into the upper Zillertal valley hiking area. You can also catch the bus there to return to the starting point.
