Kammwanderung zum Lichtsee
****
Between Nösslachjoch and Rötenspitze, on the ridge between Gschnitztal and Obernberger Tal, you will find an outstanding hiking area. Everywhere you look, there are real character mountains and along the way, you will be asking yourself the question: is the Lichtsee really as beautiful as everyone always claims?
Yes, you really should have been to the Lichtsee during a vacation in the Wipptal. It lies quietly with a view of the wild Tribulaune and the Olperer in the distance. But the path from the middle or mountain station of the Berger Alm cable car to the lake also has its own special charms. There are the views of the Habicht, the Tux Alps and the border mountains of the Brenner. Just like the lovely hilly terrain with numerous hay barns between Egger Berg and Kastner Berg. In early autumn, you hike through a red sea of blueberry and cranberry bushes. Easily accessible by public transport.
First from the car park at the valley station to the Bergeralm (gondola ride), from there continue on the marked trail (41) in about 1.5 hours to the summit with a fantastic panoramic view. As an alternative to the ascent on foot, you can take the new combined lift up to the Nösslachjoch in the morning. From here a leisurely ridge hike over the Eggerjoch, Leitnerjoch, Rohrsee to Lichtsee (variant without summit: trail 42). From Lichtsee you can follow trail 99 eastwards to Obernberg into the valley. At the end - directly at Almi's Berghotel - there is a bus stop for the public bus that will take you back to Steinach a. Br. station.
Descent options:
a) from the Truna Pass via the Truna Hut to Trins (trail 125) or via the Gerichtsherrnalm and Bergeralm (trail 43) back to Steinach
Tip: Dare to jump into the lake of light - the water can be pleasant in summer!
