The circular hike through the western Zillertal Alps, which is about 60 kilometers long in total, leads through six huts with distances of 3.5 to 13 kilometers with and without summit ascents. The respective routes are divided into walking times of 2.5 to 8 hours with varying degrees of difficulty.
Tourist rest 1.345 m - Geraer hut 2.324 m:
The ascent begins at the Gh. Touristenrast and runs along the rear Valsertal on a 2.5 km long alpine path (No. 502) to the valley station of the Geraer Hut material cable car. The slightly ascending path winds through a beautiful Swiss stone pine forest over many serpentines to the Ochsenhütte, from there in an easterly direction over high alpine pastures to the Geraer Hütte at 2,324 m. (Ascent 980 Hm).
Geraer hut 2,324 m - Tuxerjochhaus 2,316 m:
Start in a northerly direction to the SteinernenLamm (No. 527); a newly built section on this path leads over old glaciers - moraine through the front Höllwand and further to the Kleegrubenscharte. The Kasererscharte and the Frauenwand are the last destinations before descending to the Tuxerjochhaus. (walking time 4,5 - 5 hours)
Tuxerjochhaus 2,316 m - Friesenberghaus 2,477 m:
Along trail nr. 326 towards the east to Spannagelhaus 2,531 m, from there along trail nr. 526 to the highest point of the Friesenbergscharte at 2,911 m - from here the descent to Friesenberghaus (walking time 4.5 - 5 hours).
Friesenberghaus 2,477 m - Olpererhütte 2,389 m:
Past the Friesenberg lake, steep ascent over serpentines, a short section along the Berliner Höhenweg (No. 526) and slightly downhill to the Olpererhütte. (walking time 2.5 hours)
Olperer hut 2,389 m - Pfitscherjochhaus 2,275 m:
On trail nr. 502 part of the NeumarkterRunde to Unterschrammachkar,2280 m, after a short ascent towards Ameiskopf 2400 m the trail continues on an old path (nr. 528) with glacier sanding, past the Kastenschneid and below the Stamplke to the Pfitscherjochhaus (walking time 3,5 hrs.)
Pfitscherjochhaus 2.275 m - Landshuter/Europahütte 2.693 m:
From the Pfitscherjochhaus you walk through a barren stone landscape along the Landshuter Höhenweg (No. 528 or 3) in a westerly direction, the path was built between the 1st and 2nd World War and leads to the Friedrichshöhe to the Landshuter/Europahütte (walking time 3 hours).
Landshuter/Europahütte 2,693 m - tourist rest 1,345 m:
From here it goes along the Geistbeckweg (Nr. 529) to the Sumpfschartl 2.666 m and further along the long wall in northern direction to the inner Zeischalm to the parking lot Nockeralm at the end of the valley of the nature reserve Valsertal. (walking time 4 hours)
