Description

The highest of these, the Larcheggsteig, is laid out as an educational trail, at whose stations the importance of the high forest and the care of the protective forest is vividly conveyed. No less interesting, however, are the views over to the points of the Karwendel - as well as the view of a cosy snack at the rustic Proxenalm.

From Grafenast on the old Kellerjochweg mostly near the ski slope up to Berghaus Hecher. Those who take the "ascent" there by chair lift need a good hour less for the round. Shortly below the top station, the Larcheggsteig crosses into the steep forest flank on the left. The theme trail leads past several numbered stations slightly down to the Proxenalm. At the alpine huts you do not continue along the wide path but go directly left over meadows down to the Hageggweg. There again left, with little difference in altitude along the slope, partly on a narrow path, partly on forest paths through the Bruderwald. On the Bürgermeistersteig you finally get back to the starting point. Refreshment stops: Berghaus Hecher and at the starting point Biohotel Grafenast, Ferienhotel Frieden and Alpenhof Hubertus.

Special features:
Panoramic and instructive circular hike on partly narrow forest paths.
